Update on Charlotte Gala

We have been closely monitoring the events in Charlotte over the last few days. While the safety and security of our guests is our utmost priority, our event venue is located away from the downtown area that has been the center of the protest activity.

We are planning to have another stellar event tomorrow. In order to ensure the safety of our guests, we will close the event on time to allow our guests to return home safely ahead of the curfew.

Thanks,

Charlotte Gala Planning Committee.

“P.I.E’s events are fun and enjoyable,” said Luciona Johnson, an Attorney in Charlotte. “I had a lot of fun at last year’s gala, and I got to support a great cause too – giving kids in the USA and Ghana an opportunity for a good education. I look forward to attending this year’s event,” added Ms. Johnson.

In 2014 and 2015, P.I.E awarded scholarships of $1,000 each to 10 and 24 students respectively in the USA for their college education. In 2015, P.I.E also donated computer systems, printers, toners, and science laboratory materials valued at over US$ 50,000 to 35 high schools in Ghana. The donated computer systems included 99 sets of computer processing units and LCD monitors, printers and toners. The science laboratory materials included biology models such as models of the human body and various organs, and glassware and other materials for chemistry experiments. Proceeds of this year’s gala will go towards providing educational opportunities for students in the Charlotte area and Ghana.
