Donald R. Clerico, PhD, is Professor of Education at Charleston Southern University, Charleston, SC. He has taught at CSU since 1990. Prior to coming to South Carolina, Don served in a variety of public school positions in Florida, New York, Connecticut, and Maine. Don’s educational experiences include: Middle School Teacher, High School Assistant Principal and Principal, and Deputy Superintendent of Schools.
While at CSU, Don founded and directed the “Teaching & Learning in Ghana Program” for fifteen years, leading groups of university students and classroom teachers to Ghana during the summer months where they worked with village schools in the Cape Coast area. Don is married and lives in Summerville, SC. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have three married daughters and seven grandchildren all of whom live in North Carolina.
