Jeffrey Marshall

Lockheed Martin, Beltsville MD

Jeffrey Marshall was born and raised in Ghana. He is an alum of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he obtained a B.Sc degree in Geography with emphasis in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems. He started his post-secondary aviation experience at the Ethiopian Airlines Pilot Training School in Addis-Ababa, and Aero Flight Training Ltd. in Gaithersburg, Maryland where he attained his pilot’s license.

 From 2000 till 2011 he worked for Harvard Design & Mapping (HDM) then First American Flood Data (Federal Solutions) which acquired HDM, and later as CoreLogic, Inc. in a GIS Analyst role. Since 2011 he has worked as a certified floodplain manager (CFM) at ATKINS, NA, a global engineering and consulting firm in Maryland as a proven Geo-spatial analyst on FEMA contracts. He has recently joined Lockheed Martin as a Senior Aeronautical Information Analyst.

He is a member of the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), the Maryland Association of Floodplain and Stormwater Managers (MAFSM), and the Maryland State Geographic Information Committee (MSGIC). He currently sits on the Board of Trustees of Millian Memorial Methodist Church, Rockville, Maryland. He is also the Audio-Visual and Information Technology Chair of Ebenezer Methodist Church, Berwyn, Maryland, and in addition serves on the Finance and Development Committee. His other past memberships include the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Gamma Theta Upsilon Chapter of the University of Maryland, College Park as well as Montgomery College, Rockville, MD where he served as the public relations officer.


Griffiths Ayiteyfio

BNY Mellon Bank, Houston, TX

Griffiths Ayiteyfio  serves as PIE’s CFO and Interim Board Chair. He first  joined the Board in 2000, the year of incorporation. He rejoined the Board in 2015.

He attended Mfantsipm school  in Ghana, and is graduate of California State University, Sacramento (BS), and  The University of Georgia (MBA). He’s  a registered  CPA in the State of Texas, and works as a financial accountant with Bank of New York Mellon in Houston, Texas.


Nellie Benyah 

Fannie Mae, Northern VA

Nellie joined the PIE board of directors in 2022. She is an alumna of George Mason where she received a degree in Information Systems and Operations Management (BS) and a degree in Applied Information Technology with a concentration in IT Management (MS).

Nellie has over 5 years experience in the financial services industry and specializes in IT risk management and cyber security. 

Nellie enjoys serving in her local church on Sunday’s, playing flag football, and continuing to learn more about the evolving IT landscape.


Kwasi Sarpong

Wells Fargo, Charlotte NC

Kwasi is a former Board chair of Progress In Education, Inc. and the Chair of the 2015 Charlotte Galas.

He attended the Presbyterian Boys’ School (PRESEC-LEGON), earned his Bachelors degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Ghana and an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School Of Business at the University of Maryland at College Park.

Kwasi has over 17 years of experience in the financial services Industry and has held various roles in Lending, eCommerce, Strategy and Risk Management.

Kwasi lives in Fort Mill, SC and enjoys spending time with his family, Soccer, Basketball and Motorsports. He also loves architecture, travelling and learning about different cultures.
