Paulina Grant

Paulina serves as the President of Progress In Education and has been with the organization for over 10 years.

She attended Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School in Ghana and holds a BS in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MS in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia

Paulina has over 20 years of experience in IT with a background in Software development, Business and Data Analysis, Project and Program Management and currently works as an IT Management Consultant at a Health Insurance Company in Durham, NC in their Data and Analytics department.

Paulina lives in Apex, NC and is an Executive Director of her high school alumni association (Mfantsiman Old Girls Association, MOGA USA) which aims to provide support for the educational development of the students of her alumni.


Conitsha Barnes

Duke Energy, Charlotte NC

Conitsha has over 15 years with Duke Energy, and has worked in the Regulatory Strategy, Marketing and Customer Experience, Products and Services, and Customer Contact Operations organizations.

Her experience includes executing regulatory filings, managing customer product offerings, managing product profit and loss, vendor and contract management, customer data analysis and process improvement development and implementation.

Conitsha is also very active in the community serving on the board of directors for the Metrolina Chapter of Project Management Institute and chairing the African American Network-Carolinas, Duke Energy sponsored employee resource group, which has approximately 350 members.

Conitsha lives in Charlotte, NC with her family.


Kofi Clarke, MD, FACP, FRCP, (Lond), AGAF

Penn State University, Hershey PA

Dr. Kofi Clarke is a gastroenterologist and Professor of Medicine at Penn State Hershey College of Medicine and Chief, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

He attended Mfantsipim School and is a graduate of University of Ghana Medical School, Imperial College, London, Western Pennsylvania Campus of Temple University, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh PA.

Kofi lives in Harrisburg PA with his family


Godsway Amedzrovi
Reliable Enterprises, Houston TX

 

Godsway is the founder and CEO of Reliable Enterprises Houston, TX . He is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, Harrisburg where he studied Petroleum Engineering.

Prior to founding Reliable Enterprises Godsway worked as an Engineer and Materials manager in the Oil & Gas industry.

Godsway currently lives in Houston, TX with his family and enjoys soccer, water spots and traveling.


Jeffrey Marshall

Lockheed Martin, Beltsville MD

Jeffrey Marshall was born and raised in Ghana. He is an alum of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he obtained a B.Sc degree in Geography with emphasis in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems. He started his post-secondary aviation experience at the Ethiopian Airlines Pilot Training School in Addis-Ababa, and Aero Flight Training Ltd. in Gaithersburg, Maryland where he attained his pilot’s license.

 From 2000 till 2011 he worked for Harvard Design & Mapping (HDM) then First American Flood Data (Federal Solutions) which acquired HDM, and later as CoreLogic, Inc. in a GIS Analyst role. Since 2011 he has worked as a certified floodplain manager (CFM) at ATKINS, NA, a global engineering and consulting firm in Maryland as a proven Geo-spatial analyst on FEMA contracts. He has recently joined Lockheed Martin as a Senior Aeronautical Information Analyst.

He is a member of the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), the Maryland Association of Floodplain and Stormwater Managers (MAFSM), and the Maryland State Geographic Information Committee (MSGIC). He currently sits on the Board of Trustees of Millian Memorial Methodist Church, Rockville, Maryland. He is also the Audio-Visual and Information Technology Chair of Ebenezer Methodist Church, Berwyn, Maryland, and in addition serves on the Finance and Development Committee. His other past memberships include the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Gamma Theta Upsilon Chapter of the University of Maryland, College Park as well as Montgomery College, Rockville, MD where he served as the public relations officer.


Griffiths Ayiteyfio

BNY Mellon Bank, Houston, TX

Griffiths Ayiteyfio  serves as PIE’s CFO and Interim Board Chair. He first  joined the Board in 2000, the year of incorporation. He rejoined the Board in 2015.

He attended Mfantsipm school  in Ghana, and is graduate of California State University, Sacramento (BS), and  The University of Georgia (MBA). He’s  a registered  CPA in the State of Texas, and works as a financial accountant with Bank of New York Mellon in Houston, Texas.



Kwasi Sarpong

Wells Fargo, Charlotte NC

Kwasi is a former Board chair of Progress In Education, Inc. and the Chair of the 2015 Charlotte Galas.

He attended the Presbyterian Boys’ School (PRESEC-LEGON), earned his Bachelors degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Ghana and an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School Of Business at the University of Maryland at College Park.

Kwasi has over 17 years of experience in the financial services Industry and has held various roles in Lending, eCommerce, Strategy and Risk Management.

Kwasi lives in Fort Mill, SC and enjoys spending time with his family, Soccer, Basketball and Motorsports. He also loves architecture, travelling and learning about different cultures.

 


Yao Ababio, PhD

YAB Solutions

Yao is a chemical engineer by training. He is into quality management and with lean six sigma black belt and project management certifications. He currently has process improvement and performance excellence responsibilities in health care. He is also a Director at YAB Solution LC, Houston TX, a process-projects engineering management (EPC, Oil & Gas) firm with prior assignments in Canada, Angola, China, and Nigeria.

His first degree is from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Ghana. His graduate studies in chemical and process engineering were from RWTH in Germany and Canterbury University, New Zealand. He also has a business degree from the USA.

Yao has been member for 25 and chairing the chemical engineering department’s Industrial Advisory Council at Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View TX for the last 15 years. He is a senior member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), President, KNUST Alumni, North America, Founding Chair, Mawuli Fund, Inc., an IRS tax exempt not-for-profit organization, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Ghana Houston Chamber of Commerce. He has held other numerous community organization leadership positions over the years.

Yao Ababio serves as PIE’s Treasurer.
